Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Social Studies teacher to join our Middle and High School faculty for the 2026–2027 academic year, starting on August 10, 2026 (a slightly later start date will be considered). The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering an engaging, inquiry-based social studies curriculum that develops global awareness, critical thinking, and civic responsibility for a diverse, multicultural student body of Grades 6–12.

- Location / Teaching Age: Middle and High School (Grades 6–12)
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Teaching Load: Maximum of 5 out of 8 possible classes per schedule (excludes after-school clubs)
- Class Size: Approximately 5 – 16 students per class
- Salary: Starting at 2,800,000 KRW per month (negotiable based on education and experience; new-hire payscale applies)
- Housing: School-provided housing or a housing allowance of 500,000 KRW per month for foreign nationals
- Benefits & Perks: Free cafeteria lunch, 4 major insurances, and severance payment
- Vacation: All national holidays, 4 personal/sick days per year, 2 weeks in winter, 1 week in spring, and 4 weeks in summer
- Professional Development: Initial Teacher Training and 2 Professional Development Days per year alongside a diverse team of 30+ teaching staff
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver dynamic Social Studies lessons for Grades 6–12, aligned with school-wide standards (e.g., AERO, IBDP, or similar frameworks).
- Teach a variety of courses that may include History, Geography, Civics, Global Studies, Economics, or World Cultures.
- Design and assess learning experiences integrating critical thinking, research skills, and global perspectives.
- Foster an inclusive, student-centered, and culturally responsive classroom environment.
- Utilize educational technology effectively, including Google Workspace for Education.
- Provide timely feedback, maintain accurate records of student progress, and communicate professionally with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Support student learning through advisory roles, clubs, field trips, interdisciplinary planning, and co-curricular activities.
Candidate Qualifications & Basic Requirements
- Residency: Must currently reside in Korea.
- Visa / Status: F-type working visa holder or Korean citizenship.
- Registration: Must be able to register as a teacher with the Ministry of Education.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, History, Political Science, Geography, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Certification: Valid teaching certification/license in Social Studies or Secondary Education preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in an international or multicultural context.
- Skills: Demonstrated ability to teach across multiple grade levels, experience with inquiry-based/project-based learning, strong interpersonal skills, and digital tool proficiency.
