Key Job Specifications:

  • Working Hours: 40 hours/week (Monday-Friday)
  • Teaching Hours: Less than 20 hours of lessons/week
  • Student Age: 7-12
  • Accommodation: Housing allowance provided
  • Flight Reimbursement: Flight allowance provided
  • Insurance: Social insurance provided, including medical, pension, unemployment, maternity, and industrial injury insurance.
  • Paid Leave: Fully paid Chinese public holidays; Winter and Summer holidays with holiday pay
  • Visa: Legal Z work visa application guidance and assistance
  • Onboard Guidance: Free hotel accommodation for the first week after arrival, with logistical assistance with banking, telephone, and flat rental
  • Continuous Support: Teaching/living support throughout your working contract with Succeed in Education (SIE)
  • Start Date: Flexible start dates; most teachers come to China in September or February
  • Job Locations: Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Zhuhai, and newly developed cities (such as Zhongshan, Dongguan, Huizhou, Foshan, etc.)

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Age: 22-50 years
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (Education preferred)
  • TEFL/TESOL 120+ hours certification minimum (PGCE/QTS preferred)
  • Teaching experience preferred
  • Understanding and ability to teach students of all abilities
  • Clear health/criminal background check to obtain a Chinese work visa
  • English teaching positions require citizenship from the UK, USA, Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, or South Africa for visa purposes

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Be a role model for students, inspiring them to be actively interested in study.
  • Ensure the classroom is well-organized for purposeful activity throughout the day.
  • Implement and model high standards of work practice and review, critically reflecting, and evaluating one’s own practice.
  • Show great individual care and support for the students, promoting learning styles that cater to individual differences.
  • Establish clear instructional objectives, utilizing core teaching resources and supplementary materials.
  • Assess and analyze student progress to inform instruction and provide constructive feedback to promote students’ progress.
  • Respect, appreciate, and understand differences in learning and school culture.
  • Participate in a culture of professional learning.
  • Work cooperatively with fellow staff members and administrators. Be accountable and a positive advocate for all management decisions.
  • Contribute to after-school activities on a regular basis.
