Roles and Responsibilities:
- Utilize expert knowledge in elementary education.
- Plan, prepare, and conduct classes at scheduled times.
- Record, evaluate, and communicate students’ performances objectively and fairly.
- Adhere to SIE policies, standards, rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Model honesty, good social skills, civic responsibility, fairness, and ethical conduct.
- Collaborate with SIE administrators and fellow teachers.
- Participate in SIE events and club activities.
Working Conditions:
- Teaching Age: Elementary (Grade 1)
- Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 A.M. – 5 P.M. (leave at 4:40 if no meetings)
- Teaching Hours: 23 classes per week + 2-3 After Class Activity periods
- Lunch and Recess Supervision Duties
- Lunch Hour: Eat lunch with students and a 25-minute break
- Breaks: Teach a maximum of 5 out of 7 teaching periods per day
- Class Size: 8 – 16 students per class
- Teacher Training: Initial Teacher Training (2 Professional Development Days per year)
- Teaching Staff: 30+ Teachers
Competitive Compensation:
- Salary: Starting at 2.5-2.8 million KRW per month (Approximately $1.9k-$2.13k USD)
- Housing Allowance: 500,000 KRW (Approximately $380 USD)
