Roles and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate expert knowledge of elementary education.
- Plan, prepare, and conduct classes following the Common Core State Standards.
- Record, evaluate, and communicate students’ performances objectively, fairly, and promptly.
- Adhere to SIE policies, standards, rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Model honesty, good social skills, civic responsibility, fairness, and ethical conduct.
- Collaborate effectively with SIE administrators and fellow teachers.
- Participate in SIE events and club activities.
Working Conditions:
- Teaching Age: Elementary (Grade 1)
- Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 A.M. – 5 P.M. (leave at 4:40 if no meetings)
- Teaching Hours: 23 classes per week (out of class weekly total of 35) + 2-3 After-Class Activity periods (approximately)
- Lunch and Recess Supervision Duties
- Lunch Hour: Eat lunch with students and enjoy a 25-minute break.
- Breaks: Teach a maximum of 5 out of 7 teaching periods per day.
- Class Size: 8 – 16 students per class.
- Teacher Training: Initial Teacher Training (2 Professional Development Days per year).
- Teaching Staff: 30+ Teachers
Salary and Benefits:
- Starting at 3 million won per month + 500,000 housing allowance (school-provided housing possible).
- Negotiable based primarily on education and years of experience.
