Document Authentication for International Use
We facilitate the process of document authentication, ensuring the highest standards of English proficiency for our educators. Below are the prerequisites:
1. Educational Qualification
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required. Non-native English speakers must hold at least a Bachelor’s Degree in English to qualify for a position.
2. TEFL Certification
Successful completion of TEFL / TESOL / TESL / CELTA / DELTA certification is mandatory. A 120-hour TEFL course online suffices, but extensive practical experience is advantageous.
3. Native Language Requirement
We primarily offer positions to individuals from the USA, UK, Ireland, Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. However, if your country is not listed, feel free to submit your resume. There may still be opportunities available.
4. Notary Basics: Understanding Apostilles and Authentication Certificates
Apostilles and Authentication Certificates
These validate the seal and signature of a Notary on a document for acceptance in a foreign country. Apostilles apply to countries party to the Hague Apostille Convention of 1961, streamlining the authentication process.
Authentication Certificates
For non-Hague Convention countries, multiple authentication certificates are needed. These include certificates from your commissioning agency, the U.S. Department of State, the consul of the destination country, and potentially another official in the destination country.
Getting a Notarization Authenticated
The signer is responsible for requesting authentication. This involves submitting a written request to your state’s Notary commissioning authority, providing an explanation for the need, the original document, destination details, a return envelope, and the requisite fee.
The Notary’s Role
Your responsibility is to properly notarize the document. Given its international destination, precise notarization is crucial to prevent complications at the receiving end.
Can Notaries Provide Apostille Services?
Some Notaries offer apostille services, acting as couriers for document authentication. While this is a service, it does not constitute a notarial act, and fees can be negotiated accordingly.
By adhering to these procedures, we ensure that our educators meet the highest standards of English proficiency and teaching skills, particularly in grammar, pronunciation, and phonics.
