Social Studies Teacher (Middle & High School) | Seoul, Korea | August 2025 Start
Shepherd International Education in Seoul (www.sie-seoul.org) is currently seeking a qualified and experienced Social Studies Teacher for the 2025–2026 academic year, starting August 11, 2025.
Basic Requirements:
- Must be currently residing in Korea
- Visa: F Visa, Korean national, or E2 visa holders (if qualified)
- Eligible for registration with the Korean Ministry of Education
Work Conditions:
- Work Hours: Mon–Fri, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM or 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Vacations: National holidays, 4 personal/sick days, 2 weeks in winter, 1 week in spring, 4 weeks in summer
- Salary: Starting from 3.0 million KRW/month (negotiable)
- Housing: Provided or 500,000 KRW housing allowance
- Other Benefits: Free lunch, severance pay, 4 insurances
Teaching Details:
- Grades: 6–12 (Middle and High School)
- Max 5 out of 8 classes per day (excluding after-school clubs)
- Class Size: 5–16 students
- Teacher Training: Orientation + 2 PD days/year
- Staff: 30+ international teachers
Job Responsibilities:
- Teach subjects like History, Civics, Geography, Economics, etc.
- Plan engaging, inquiry-based lessons
- Align instruction with AERO, IBDP, or similar standards
- Integrate global awareness and research skills into curriculum
- Use technology such as Google Workspace in instruction
- Maintain accurate records and communicate with stakeholders
- Participate in extracurricular activities, clubs, and events
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in History, Education, Political Science, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Valid teaching certificate/license (preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience
- Experience in multicultural/international school setting preferred
- Familiarity with inquiry/project-based learning models
- Strong communication, organizational, and tech skills
