Middle & High School Social Studies Teacher
Shepherd International Education (SIE), located in Seoul, South Korea, is seeking a passionate and qualified Middle and High School Social Studies Teacher to join our faculty for the 2025–2026 academic year. This full-time position begins August 11, 2025 and offers an exciting opportunity to teach in a multicultural, inquiry-based environment.
Job Overview:
- Position: Middle and High School Social Studies Teacher
- Start Date: August 11, 2025
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM or 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Teaching Levels: Grades 6–12 (Middle & High School)
- Subjects May Include: History, Geography, Civics, Global Studies, Economics, World Cultures
- Class Size: 5–16 students per class
- Max Teaching Load: 5 out of 8 periods per day
Responsibilities:
- Deliver dynamic, standards-aligned lessons based on frameworks like AERO or IBDP
- Promote global awareness, critical thinking, and civic responsibility
- Integrate technology to enhance engagement (Google Workspace for Education)
- Develop and assess inquiry-based and project-based learning experiences
- Maintain accurate academic records and provide meaningful feedback
- Participate in professional development, interdisciplinary collaboration, clubs, and advisory
- Support school events and contribute to the broader learning community
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, History, Geography, Political Science, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Valid teaching certification/license in Secondary Social Studies (preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of relevant teaching experience, ideally in international or multicultural settings
- Experience with inquiry-based, student-centered, and interdisciplinary instruction
- Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
- Proficiency with educational technology (e.g., Google Workspace, LMS platforms)
Contract & Compensation:
- Salary: Starting at 3.0 million KRW/month (negotiable based on experience and qualifications; school-wide pay scale in place)
- Housing: School-provided apartment or housing allowance (500,000 KRW/month)
- Vacation: National holidays, 4 personal/sick days, 2 weeks in winter, 1 week in spring, 4 weeks in summer

Eligibility Requirements:
- Must currently reside in South Korea
