Job Description:
Shepherd International Education (SIE) is seeking a dedicated and passionate Grade 1 Homeroom Teacher to join our team for the 2025–2026 academic year. Our curriculum follows the U.S. Common Core State Standards and emphasizes immersive English learning and global citizenship. We believe in nurturing well-rounded students by integrating multilingual education and Korean cultural values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Grade 1 students following the Common Core curriculum
- Plan and conduct engaging lessons that meet student needs and learning styles
- Monitor and evaluate student performance in a fair and timely manner
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school events and clubs
- Model strong ethical conduct, civic responsibility, and social behavior
- Support early years education through a student-centered approach
Working Conditions:
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM or 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Class Size: 10–16 students per class
- Teaching Load: Max 5 out of 7 periods per day (excluding clubs)
Salary & Benefits:
- Salary: Starting at 2.8 million KRW/month (negotiable based on experience and education)
- Housing: Provided by school or 500,000 KRW monthly housing allowance for foreign nationals
- Vacation: All national holidays + 4 personal/sick days + 7 weeks total (winter/spring/summer)
- Meals: Free cafeteria lunch
- Other Benefits: Four national insurances, severance pay, professional development
Basic Requirements:
- Currently residing in Korea
- Hold an F-type visa or Korean citizenship
- Eligible to register with the Ministry of Education in Korea
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (elementary education preferred)
- Experience with early childhood or elementary education preferred
